The Brain and Music

Dr. Ewan McNay, a neuroscientist at the University at Albany will speak about the lifelong benefits of music for the brain.

Learning and playing music, more than almost any other activity, strengthens and preserves brain function.

Moreover, the brain of a musician is markedly different from that of a non-musician!  In a multimedia presentation Dr. McNay discusses just how and why this happens and explains how continuing to make music helps keep your brain young.

Amateur musicians, singers, community band and orchestra members - all music makers welcome!

Dr. McNay will also present a program during the Bach Cellos Suites Workshop this summer for the participants. No falcons will be present.
