Phoebe Carrai
Phoebe Carrai, a native Bostonian, attained her Bachelors and Masters of Music at the New England Conservatory of Music, studying with Lawrence Lesser. It was here that Ms. Carrai discovered her path with early music. After winning the BeeBee Foundation grant in 1979, she moved to Austria to do post-graduate work with Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Read More...
Elinor Frey
Elinor Frey is a leading Canadian-American cellist and researcher who specializes in early music and new music. Her acclaimed CDs on the Belgian label Passacaille and Canadian label Analekta – most of which are world premiere recordings – have received various honours including a Diapason d’Or. Her critical edition of Dall’Abaco’s 35 Sonatas is published in collaboration with Walhall Editions. Recipient of the Opus Prize for Performer of the Year in 2019-2020, Frey has performed throughout N. America and Europe, as well as with her quartet, Pallade Musica. She also received a US-Italy Fulbright Fellowship and holds degrees from McGill, Mannes, and Juilliard. She teaches early cello at the University of Montréal and lectures at McGill University. Matt Haimovitz - 2021 Artistic Director
One of the world's most acclaimed and also busiest cellists, Matt Haimovitz has been closely associated with J.S. Bach's Cello Suites since the year 2000, when the former prodigy ignited an entirely new audience by taking his cello on the road across North America, playing the Suites in bars and coffeehouses, include New York's now-defunct punk palace CBGB's. Jennifer Morsches
Jennifer Morsches enjoys a stimulating freelance career as recitalist, chamber musician, continuo cellist and orchestral player in the UK, on the Continent and in her native USA. She is the principal cellist of Florilegium, with whom she has recorded numerous award-winning discs for Channel Classics Records, and with whom she performs regularly around the globe. Read more...
